Relationships Skills For Executives For Home And Workplace Practicing The Best Relationship Skills

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

By Nili Sachs, Ph.D Have you ever met a successful executive, a man or a woman, who has a golden touch for business while at the same time, is carrying a history of failing relationships, hurts, confusion and multiple divorces?Well, some say wrongly, that in order to succeed in business; one might need to exhaust their emotional and mental energies at their workplace, so there is nothing left to share at home. The secret of success in both relationships at home and in the workplace lies not in the innate gene of success, but in acquired skills. After working with many executives relating to others: the ones they love, as well as those they manage in their workplace, it is safe to conclude: You can have the best of both worlds: reliable, successful relationships at work and thriving, vibrant and loving intimacy at home! Here is the core of that issue: the kind of behaviors one needs to perform in order to excel in the workplace, in most cases, is the opposite set of behaviors you want to practice as a spouse, a lover and a family member. A partial list of behaviors for advancement at work: the ability to think and act strategically, developing a competitive edge, secrecy, never encouraging physical closeness, stick-to-itiveness at all costs, never take no for an answer, having plan B and more. A partial list of behaviors for promoting intimacy in relationships: an ability to confide in the other, flexibility, trust, never having a plan B while in this relationship, no secrets, promote physical closeness and more. The good news is that you can and should learn all those relationships skills for the purpose of practicing and achieving relationship success in both arenas. How would you like to learn relationships skills that are appropriate for the workplace and/or relationship skills that promote intimacy? Then get yourself trained in my Relationship Coaching! Banana Bread - Taste Thy Goodness Of Bananas

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By James L. Paleta Theres sure is nothing that says home like the smell of fresh-baked bread. Except for, possibly, when the baker takes it up a notch and the bread in the oven is banana bread. Though it is bread, this enjoyable treat is in many ways more like a cake. The leavening agent in banana bread is usually baking soda instead of yeast. What’s more unlike regular bread, banana bread is baked from batter and not dough. And evidently, it includes bananas thats normally mashed and put into the batter. A huge family favorite, this has been around for years! In fact it first came into popularity in the 1930s, and ever since then a number of varieties have appeared in cookbooks. Banana bread is relatively easy to make, and hence popular among home bakers. In addition it can often be found in the display cases of bakeries and coffee shops. It is not only tasty but also versatile. Usually a great on-the-go breakfast item, either at home or grabbed at the coffee shop where the busy professional stops for his or her daily dose of java. Also it can be packed in a lunchbox that makes it a great ending to the afternoon meal, but is just as likely to be a warm after-school snack waiting when children hop off the bus. Whats more it can also serve as a last-minute dessert option when guests turn up unexpectedly and you find yourself whipping up a quick meal. If whipped together before dinner and popped into the oven it makes a fantastic accompaniment to a relaxing cup of tea while watching evening television. This homey treat is so versatile because it is sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. There is an adequate amount of a dessert-like texture and taste for it to serve as a sweet meal-ender. But its dessert like qualities are milder than overwhelming, and banana bread can be just as fulfilling accompanying a meal or as a standalone quick breakfast with a cup of coffee or a glass of milk. It is generally baked in loaf-shaped pans and can be cut into thin slices or larger wedges for serving. There are plenty of variations on banana bread out there. Of which, some banana bread recipes are passed down by a number of families from generation to generation, and each will declare theirs the best. Perhaps the most common varieties are banana nut breads, which are made from standard banana bread recipes but also include walnuts or pecans. In fact there are many other types of fruit or even vegetable-based breads. Such as cranberry bread, cranberry banana bread, and zucchini bread are among a few examples. While these are also often-enjoyed treats, banana bread still seems to take the front in terms of popularity. James L. Paleta provides readers with up-to-date commentaries, articles, and reviews for food, drinks as well as other related information. Relocation, The Reasons for Leaving

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

By Michael Russell The airport lounge was packed with people that day. There was a gathering of families and well wishers who bid their leaving loved ones goodbye. There was a group of travelers anxious to get to their destinations; some were going to the U.S., others to the Middle East and still others to Europe. My sister was one of them. She had been waiting for that day to come. After years of grueling immigrant visa applications including several visa denials, finally she was set to go. With her bags neatly packed and her passport in hand she was ready to start a new life in a new place she will soon call home. Everyone in my family took our turns in kissing her goodbye. With tears in our eyes, we saw her disappear amidst the throng of people. I just wondered, when will I see her again, now that she had chosen to live a continent apart from us? In the Philippines at least 2,700 people leave everyday to work abroad. Often you will find one or two members of a family usually working and living abroad. The same is true with other countries in Asia and other developing countries in the world. What are the causes of this exodus of people from one country to the other? The first is for economic reasons. People want to seek a better life. Attractive opportunities like high paying jobs, better working conditions and higher standards of living. All of these entice a lot of people to go abroad. When migrating to a more economically stable country, a migrant usually enjoys a huge wage disparity compared to what is usually earned from their country of origin. A Filipino nurse for example, usually earns between 5,000 to 6,000 pesos monthly, roughly $100 when working in the Philippines as compared to earning 1,600 ($3,000) monthly while working in U.K. The bigger salary doesn’t only benefit the migrant but also the family, the migrant leaves behind. Second, some people migrate to countries with better climate conditions than their own. This is especially true of people who are retiring and pensioners who want to live their remaining years in a vacation kind of environment. Usually people coming from countries with extreme weather conditions and who have had enough of the cold winter season choose to migrate to some warm tropical countries where every day is sunny. The third reason is interracial marriage. With the rising popularity of Internet dating and made to order brides, men and women are migrating to unite with their new found love. Finally, as interracial marriages increase and waves of migrant workers grow, family reunification becomes imperative. This brings out a new group of migrants. In order to reunite with the family they left behind; migrants will usually file for petition so that members of their family who still live in their country of origin will finally reunite with them in their new adopted land. Performance Appraisal Training

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Jimmy Sturo After the performance of an employee is appraised, the superior should inform the employee about the level of the employees performance, the reason for the need for improvement of performance, and the methods of this improvement. The superior should counsel the employee about his performance and the methods of improving it. Counseling is a planned, systematic intervention in the life of an individual who is capable of choosing the goal and the direction of his own development. Thus the purpose of counseling is to help the employee to be aware of his own performance, his strengths and weaknesses, opportunities available for performance development, and the threats in the form of technological change. Performance counseling can be done in the form of performance interview by the superior. The post-appraisal interview has been considered by most of the organizations, as well as employees, as the most essential part of any appraisal system. This interview provides the employee the feedback information. It also gives the appraiser an opportunity to explain to the employee his rating, as well as the traits and behavior he has taken into consideration for appraisal. It also gives the opportunity to the employee to explain his views about the rates, standards or goals, rating scale, internal and external environment, or causes for a low level of performance. Further it helps both the parties to review standards, set new standards based on the reality factors, and helps the appraiser to offer suggestions coach the employee through his advancement. Thus the post-appraisal interview is designed to achieve certain objectives. The first objective is to let employees know where they stand. The second objective is to help employees do a better job by clarifying what is expected of them. The third objective is to plan opportunities for development and growth. The fourth is to strengthen the superior- subordinate working relationships by developing a mutual agreement of goals. Last but not least, the post-appraisal interview provides an opportunity for employees to express themselves on performance-related issues. Add Dimension and Personality to Your Embroidery

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

By Rose L One of the best ways that you can personalize your embroidery and make it stand out among others is to add dimension to your technique. Dimension in embroidery brings your piece to life and adds style, personality, and a 3-D quality that is uniquely your own. And contrary to what you may think, adding dimension does not require intricate and complicated stitching such as stumpwork or other techniques used in dimensional embroidery. If you can embroider, you can add dimension to your work with just a few simple techniques. Here’s how: Use different thread weights. Using multiple weights of thread will give your embroidered piece dimension and depth that cannot be achieved with patterns using all the same thread weight. A heavier weight thread results in denser embroidery and shadows, where a lighter weight thread results in a light, delicate pattern. By blending these two together, you can add dimension without leaving your canvas. While it may sound simple, it can take a few tries to find the perfect harmony between your threads so that the embroidery will look natural. Use different colors of thread to create shadow. Three-dimensional images have shadows, and one of the best ways that you can make your embroidery seem three dimensional is to embroider shadows into your design. You can do this by selecting darker shades of the color of thread that you are using and graduating the darker colors on your embroidery to create the effect of natural shadow. For lighter colors, you can use two to three darker, graduated colors; for darker colors, you can use up to five darker shades of graduation. Practice using these darker shades on your sampler until you achieve a natural looking shadow. It may take a few tries, but once you get the hang of it, you will acquire an eye for placing the shadows perfectly. Use textured threads. Wool threads, pearl threads and silk threads all achieve a different result when used in embroidery. By combining several different textures into your embroidery, you can easily achieve a dimensional image. For example: light, airy threads would be ideal for delicate patterns such as flowers, whereas coarse, textured threads would be ideal for creating structures such as buildings and houses. In addition to these simple ways to add dimension to your embroidery, you can also use different stitches to create different effects. By closely matching your stitching style to the type of image that you want to create for each aspect of your piece, you can add a great deal of texture and dimension. Don’t be afraid to incorporate several different types of stitching, threads and patterns to achieve the desired result. By using more variations, you will create an embroidered design that is uniquely your own and full of dimension. The best pieces trick the eye and give the viewer a little surprise of detail each time they see it. Law and Health

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By Charles Snyder There are three kinds of Law in this world. 1, Gods Law 2, Natural Law 3, Mans Law Many of the laws of man were based on Gods Law. Gods Law is found in the original manuscripts of the Bible. Men interpret the Law of God. It is not surprising that an interpretation written in the 1700s could confuse people reading it in the 1900s and beyond. An example of how this can be detrimental to your health and society in general is the word meat. In modern speech it is assumed that the word meat means the flesh of an animal. In nearly all cases, where the Bible uses the word meat, it is talking about food in general. Mankind in modern times has assumed that the command was to eat the flesh of other animals as a primary source of nourishment. God set Natural Laws, in place during creation. The planets were given the right amount of magnetism to hold them in their proper orbit. An obvious example of Natural Law is gravity. Anything heavier than air will fall to the ground unless supported. If your supports are taken away, you fall. Men likes to tinker with Gods law. They think it is too restrictive. What they dont realize is that in truth Gods law is really liberating. One area where we humans get in trouble is discerning Gods will with our own personal blinders on. We have a habit of looking at the bible with our own private content filter. If something does not agree with what we wish it to say, we either ignore it, or modify itin our minds to suit our desires. I will give you two examples. Gods perfect will can be seen in Genesis 1:29 where God tells Adam and Eve to eat fruit, vegetables, and seeds. This is a clear command. However when most people study Genesis they skip over this command as if it were not there. The result of this assumption is that the average American eats a diet consisting of 25% protein. Honest scientists have proven that a diet of 25% protein causes nearly all of the diseases common to modern industrialized societies. In Genesis 9, after the worldwide flood, Noah and his family are told to start eating the animals. Modern mankind reads that passage and assumes that it supersedes Genesis 1:29, and that Genesis 1:29 is no longer important. They dont take into account the situation that Noah and his family found them selves in. After the flood there were no fruit trees, which were not damaged or destroyed by the flood. It would take several years before they had their normal food supply. They dont take into account the results, recorded in the Bible, which were a direct result of that diet change. After a year or more of nearly all flesh foods they had gained a taste for animal flesh. Even when produce was available again they still eat a significant amount of animal products. Think with me for a moment. Before the flood mankind lived an average of well over 600 years. After the flood the lifespan dropped to less that 120 years, within one generation. Everyone who came after Noah and his children and their families had a drastic change in life expectancy. There were only two changes that I can see that caused this drastic reduction in life expectance. There was a possible change in the atmospheric conditions. It had not rained before the flood. The changes in seasons became drastic. And the diet change mentioned above. So what happens if a person goes back to our original diet? For me my arthritis went away. The pain left within two months. I go into a lot more detail on my website where I have my story in greater detail. I also have a free course available at the site. This course will teach you much more about our original diet. The course is called Health By Design. I pray that you will soon achieve a high state of health. If you wish to contact me there is a contact form on my website. Well, there are personal loans to provide you funds to carry out any of these personal needs. Personal loans are offered to bear the expenditure of major personal needs and frequently used by borrowers in UK. At times it becomes difficult to take care of personal need due to unavailability of adequate cash. Ignoring the need also creates further problem and causes higher monetary loss. So it remains better to take out a personal loan and get the need fulfiled on time. Since [http://www.go4ukloans.co.uk/personalloan.html target=_blank] personal loans are available with and without collateral, both homeowners as well as tenants can take these loans. May be you are a homeowner or not, you can take unsecured personal loan. For taking secured personal loan you have to be a homeowner with sufficient equity available in it. Secured personal loan offers low rate, big borrowable amount, small repayment instalments and long repayment period. Unsecured personal loan is risk free and provides the borrower with instant cash as there is less documentation in it. The drawback of secured personal loan is its risky nature while unsecured personal loan has its share of demerit in the form of higher interest rate. Bad credit record of a borrower is no longer a big issue with personal loans. So, if you have a poor credit score do not abstain from applying for personal loans.
