What To Do On Your Date: Trying Something New

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

By Kum Martin You’ve been going to the movies regularly, been out at restaurants and cafes, biked, skated, and hung out at your place and her place. You want to treat your partner to something you haven’t done before, but you don’t know what. Well, why don’t you get out of the norms of dating and explore new possibilities? Take her to the zoo. Loosen up and relax, enjoy the animals and other wildlife with the kids visiting the zoo. It’s a perfect opportunity to kindle each other’s playfulness. Play under the rain. Nobody’s too old to play outside while it’s raining, just stay away from busy streets. Delight in the smell of rain and the raindrops on your skin, splash each other around with water and afterwards grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Visit a museum. Appreciate the works of art, or if you are not that into the arts, try to fathom the meaning behind each abstract painting and share it with each other. You can even play a game of coming up with the most intricate and unbelievable interpretations. Don’t be too serious, it’s supposed to be fun! Meditate. You can try doing meditation and/or yoga exercises together. Just celebrate each other in silence, know that you are together and you don’t need to fill the air with words. Being comfortable in silence with each other means you know each other well enough. There are lots of other activities to do than just plain “hang out” that can enrich your dating experience. Just remember that you are doing this with a partner, and it is important that you enjoy yourselves. Tips For Your Bridal Shower

Monday, May 26th, 2008

By Yolanda Nash Co-ed showers are finally taking a twist and growing every day more popular. Having a co-ed shower will make everyone attending feel more welcome and will also give them a chance to get to know one another before the big day. Give your bridal party a day to remember you by. Take them to the beach or have a barbecue but just make sure your guests are entertained and enjoying them selves. If you are having a co-ed or more traditional bridal shower it will be so much more fun when you play games or make it theme night. If you love the beach have a pool party, if you love barbecue then cookout or if you enjoy crafts then make a special project, but just make it fun and enjoyable for all your guests and make the memories last. Make sure they can dance. So I suggest either renting video lessons or hiring a personal dancing instructor. Pick some fun dancing and also some formal dancing lessons so you have dances for all of your music. If your reception party has a country theme, then make sure you take country dancing lessons. When the spotlight is on you and your bridal party it will be so much more fun for everyone when you know what your doing. The bridal shower is the time when all of the bride’s friends all get together and everyone meet one another. All of the bride’s friends should bring something that they remember her by. They can bring friendship bracelets, class rings and photos. This will really make the shower more enjoyable and gives everyone a chance to share there memories of each other. Yolanda enjoys being the owner of Yolandas wedding favors, wedding planner and author. At her online store she sells cheap wedding favors and discount wedding favors for the budget minded. She loves seeing all of the different wedding party favors, wedding decorations and place card holders at the wedding reception. An Angler’s Last Request

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

By Jim Dourney Quite often the time I spend fishing has very little to do with actually catching fish. Mostly, it is about being alone with my thoughts and letting my mind unwind from work, traffic and the other stresses that that wear me down. Just a few hours casting a plug can change a miserable day into nothing more than a slight annoyance; rejuvenating mind, body and spirit so I can face any new challenges with a fresh outlook. I guess you could say that the Indian River Lagoon is my church. When I’m wading as the sunset turns the sky crimson, gold, pinks and purples, the ospreys soar overhead and schools of mullet move across the calm water, I am at peace. I never feel closer to God than in those moments. At times like that, it’s an odd feeling to wish someone was there share it with, but at the same time to be happy you’re alone. If you share my point of view, the next time your spouse catches you sneaking off with rod in hand simply explain to them that you are going to church. How can they possibly object? The Indian River is in my soul. It flows through me like the tides. So, when I’m gone, if you find a little cove where the osprey stands guard from a tall tree, the mullet are nervous and the sun puts on a show every afternoon, spread my ashes there because I will be home. Ideas of Zoroaster

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

By Aaron Schwartz The predominant form of religion in different ancient societies was polytheism. But exactly in Egypt idea of monotheism appeared for the first time. The first man, who tried to carry out this idea, was Pharaoh Amenkhotep IV who lived in XIV century B. C. He forbad cults of some influential Egyptian gods and formed new cult of one God Aton God of the Sun. This Pharaoh changed his name into Akhenaten and built new capital Akhetaton. His religious doctrine was very similar to Zoroasters one (Jews have very similar doctrine in the Old Testament). God may be only one, also people adored different animals, for example, bull, dog. But his reform had not any results: after his death all ancient gods and cults came back and the name of Pharaoh was cursed. Zoroastrism is a religion of the ancient Iranians and it was formed separately from all main centers of the Near East civilization.Zoroastrism takes his beginning from the ancient religious beliefs of Indo-European people. The basic theory of Zoroastrism is fixed in the ancient book Avesta. Zoroastrism of Avesta it is a teaching of the prophet Zoroaster. He lived and preached in VII VI century B. C. and was contemporary of Budda and Lao-tszy. It is interesting that the Near East region did not facilitate the appearance of great religious leaders and only in the outlying areas we can see such leaders, who came from the Jewish and Iranian herdsmans tribes. The system of Zoroastrism tried to comprehend this world, understand the basis of its connections and relations. The central place in this system took Ethics and ethical principles are the main criteria of human behaviour. The basis of this religion is that everything is divided into two sides world of the Good and world of the Evil, forces of Light and kingdom of Darkness (as we know, there is the same idea in Bible). World of the Good in this dualistic system is represented by Ahura-Mazda and world of the Evil Angra-Mahniah. There is the endless war between these two beginnings. Spirits of the Good are the creative force, spirits of the Evil are the destructive force. This dualistic idea about fight between Light and Darkness had great social and ethical importance. Zoroaster called man for being better, kinder, to fight against evil forces. In hymns and poems of Avesta we can see three basic terms of the Good: Good Deed, good Thought, Justice. People should be friendly, be moderate in their thoughts and emotions, and help people. Honesty and faithfulness were extolled, stealing, scandal and crimes were blamed. The most important ethical doctrine of Zoroastrism was that the Evil and peoples sufferings depend on the behaviour of people, which can make their lives and happiness themselves. The idea of becoming clean is very important also (not only thoughts, but also physical body). Corpse was a symbol of non-purity. There was very specific tradition of funeral. There were the open towers where people left corpses and these bodies were pecked by griffons. In the process of becoming clean fire played the very important role. The rituals of Ahura-Mazda were carried out at some open places, with fire, sinning and vine. People adored not only fire but also some animals dog, bull, horse.Mythology of Zoroastrism is very interesting. There are a lot of things, which we can find in Bible. The first man was also drove out the Paradise. In this mythology also are the conceptions of the Paradise and the First sin with the mans punishment, man lost immortality. There is interesting conception about human soul after physical death, if man was very kind, he fought against evil, he would go to the Paradise. Zoroaster said: Think, say and do only good things. This conception of connection of human behaviour and his fate is usual thing for the developed religious systems. There is prophetic doctrine about the end of the world, about apocalypses and about Messiah (incarnation of Zoroaster). Judaism imitated Zoroastrism in many things. The end of the world (according to Avesta) is triumph of the Good and then world will be regenerated without diseases and death. According to Judaism world will be regenerated too in the days of Messiah. Fervent prophecies of Jewish prophets were full of ideas about Messiah, a prophet of future, who would come to save the world and the general harmony would come after that. Daniel the prophet said: The Son of mankind comes, whose Kingdom will be eternal Judaism is a religion of ancient Jews. The history of ancient Jews and process of their religion formation are known from the oldest part of Bible the Old Testament. The structure of power in the world of supernatural was similar to the power of Pharaoh. The views of such kind might have favoured the formation of the idea of monotheism. Semitic tribes were polytheistic and they worshiped different gods and spirits, believed in soul existence; that is why they could easily adopt any god from any other religion, especially if it was from the defeated tribe pantheon. It is obvious that Yahweh was one of such gods. He was a kind of patron or divine ancestor of certain kin of Jewish people. The cult of Yahweh became the main one with the course of time, having left behind the other cults and having appeared in the time light. Bible demonstrates the influence of ancient Egyptian culture on religious concepts of Jews. The comparative analysis between the Aton Gods hymn (Egypt mythology) and psalm 103 of Bible makes it plain. These two texts in similar expressions and in some contexts praise the Great Single God and the deeds of him full of wisdom. Akhenaten`s reformation had an impressive influence on the religious concepts of small people, which inhabited a territory near Egypt in the middle of II millennium B. C. So the appearance among the Jewish tribes a reformer, a prophet, a leader (depicted in the Bible under the name of Moses) is quite natural. He took out the Jews from Egypt, changed and improved their beliefs, moved Yahweh on the first plan, ascribed to him all the laws and reforms. Term paper The Old Testament consists of five books. The first book tells about the world creation, about Adam and Eve, about the first ancient Jewish patriarchs, about Joseph and Egyptian captivity. The Exhodus tells about escape of Jews from Egypt, about Moses and his conceptions and Yahweh cult formation. Leviticus is a code of religious rules, rituals and dogmas. The forth and the fifth books give historical essay of Jewish history after Egyptian captivity. The Bible was sacred book which task was to impart to readers blind beliefs into Gods importance and his miracles. Texts of the Old Testament taught the Jews the obedience to Yahweh, to the prophets, who spoke from his name. Buy custom essays But, however, the content of the Bible is not concerned about these. Its texts are full of the serious thoughts about the universe and fundamental principles of beingness, about peoples relationships, about moral, about social values. The main idea of the Old Testament is the idea that Yahweh chose the only nation the Jewish one; though the God is single for every nation (as in Zoroastrism). As a conclusion, we can say that all these religions have many common features: idealogy, attitude to the world, doctrine of behaviour. There are many differences between them also but it because of that Zoroastrism and doctrine of Akhnaten were closer to the ancient cults than Judaism. custom essay Aaron is a professional freelance writer at custom essays writing service: custom-essay.netNow he is a technical writer, advertising copywriter, & website copywriter for Custom Essay Network. How Much Does Plastic Surgery Cost? Breaking It Down

Friday, May 9th, 2008

By Nicola Kennedy Plastic surgery costs can vary widely from one surgeon to another. Several factors govern the cost of a particular plastic surgery procedure. A couple of major factors include the surgeons expertise and experience, and the length and complexity of the procedure. Moreover, the cost may vary from one clinical setting to another. A surgeon owning a state of the art clinic and wielding advanced equipment would charge more for a particular procedure, in order to cover the cost of his/her investments. The same procedure if carried out at a fairly average clinical facility might incur a significantly lower expense. Whatever the cost, it should be disclosed and settled upon prior to the surgery. Some medical facilities tout attractive bargains, concealing certain costs in order to dupe prospective clients. Therefore, the patient must ensure that the cost agreed to covers the surgery, anesthesia, post-operative exams, and corrective procedures if required. The patient must also make sure that the surgeon has a provision for post-operative care. Plastic surgery costs are typically not covered by insurance unless the surgical procedure is regarded as a reconstructive procedure. However, several finance schemes are available, which allow the patient to pay the costs in easy installments. At the advent of plastic surgery, the procedure was the preserve of the affluent few, since the costs were simply overwhelming. However, with advances in technology, plastic surgery procedures are now almost ubiquitous. This has significantly reduced the expenses, and made plastic surgery accessible to the populace. The costs depend on the particular plastic surgery procedure performed, and may vary between $1,500 and $8,000. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgerys most recent (2003) estimates, average expense incurred for a few major procedures is as follows: - Breast Augmentation - $3,360 - Breast Lift - $3,965 - Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) - $4,827 - Breast Reduction (women) - $5,351 - Facelift - $5,966 - Lower Body Lift - $7,874 - Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) - $3,869 Nicola publishes an informational site about liposuction surgery, with articles and news, tips and views to help you make the correct choice about Liposuction Surgery at http://lipo.plastic-surgery-info.net This article may be reprinted in full so long as the resource box and the live links are included intact. Want To Try Your Hand At Sewing - You’ll Need Some Sewing Patterns?

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

By Mike Yeager These days, sewing patterns are widely available. Almost any department store or even some discount stores carry sewing supplies and some even carry sewing machines. As this hobby grows, the amount of available products grows as well. Once a necessity, sewing has become a hobby among young and old. And, in this age of the world wide web it is now easier then ever to sell hand made articles as well. First, patterns. People who are new to sewing will need to buy a book or two (or find them in the nearest library) and read up on the lingo and techniques. Once an understanding of how to use the sewing machine (and even how to thread a needle) is learned, finding projects to do is simple. There are many, many books that can provide ideas. Sewing patterns themselves can be found in craft and fabric stores and also some department stores. Many times they can be found online as well. Every imaginable pattern is available. Or, creating a new idea is an alternative as well. The average person who is new to sewing and sewing machines, will need some practice and tons of patience! There is also a need for basic supplies such as needles, threads of different colors and strengths, fabric, and maybe a how to book to help them along. All of these supplies will be available in craft or fabric stores. Of course the best way to experience the art of sewing is to do it. Having an experienced teacher is also a big advantage as there is not a book out there that can top experiencing hands on training. There are also many sewing classes available. Try looking into area recreation centers or even local colleges that offer mini courses. Mostly, practice will be a guide as to what can be created, that and of course, imagination. So, pick a pattern that is not too complex, gather the supplies, and try to sew! Should You Sell Your Wares At A Craft Fair?

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

By Samantha Davis Simply put, a craft fair is an organized event where exhibitors display their crafts for sale. Even though the number of people selling products at craft fairs both full-time and part-time seems to be increasing, it can be tough to decide whether or not craft fairs are for you. There is profit to be had at craft fairs, but you should do your homework before you jump in. A good way to decide if you should sell your creations at a craft fair is to go to a few in your area. Visit small craft fairs. Visit large craft fairs. Check out both open air markets and indoor exhibitions. See what kind of traffic they have. See what people are selling and what consumers are buying. These are important items to know when considering selling products at craft fairs yourself. You can find out what craft fairs are coming to your area by checking websites like http://www.artandcraftshows.net, http://www.festivalnet.com, and http://www.crafters.db.com. You can also get this information if you belong to a craft guild or subscribe to a trade journal. Seek out the opinions of your fellow crafters or friends that have participated in craft shows to find out which are the best. Once you find a show you would like to show at, you should get as much information as possible. You may want to ask about fees and how booth space is assigned. When considering the cost of the craft fair, be sure to include the cost of travel and supplies. Find out what the attendance was last year and what the expected attendance is this year. Do you need a special license to sell? All sellers will need a sales tax certificate as most states require you to collect sales tax. It would also be good to know what kind of crafts will be displayed, in other words, the style of the show. How many competitors will you have there? Do you know what their average price range is? Also find out what the contingency plan is for bad weather, especially if it is outdoors. When getting started at craft fairs, keep it simple. Youll want to start small and build up a reputation. On the other hand, selling a high number of cheaper items is not always best. Be sure that your offerings include a range of basic, or less expensive items, and a range of more personalized, detailed, or larger items that are more expensive. You want to present a small, but accurate, picture of who you are and what you can do. Also, make sure that your prices reflect the work that you have done. Try not to overprice your items. Here is what you should bring to a craft fair, other than your creativity! Invest in a credit card machine and remember to bring it with you. Not many people are going to pay cash, especially for higher priced items. Bring a friend someone that can help you carry things, talk with customers, and sell. Bring any supplies for your booth not provided by the show promoters. While you are at the craft fair, try to share information. Meaning, get your company name, logo, website, and other contact information out there, and try to build up your potential customer list. Give aways and sign up sheets are great ways to get email addresses that you can use to promote your newest creations when you are away from the craft fairs. This can also help you build a loyal customer base and establish a good reputation. You can be successful selling your products at craft fairs, if you have the energy, the drive, and the dedication!
